Music
Vem records Armenian sacred music (sharakans) at Vem Recordings Studio, with the purpose of creating a comprehensive compilation of Armenian spiritual music. The recordings are done with the best choirs and soloists. In 2005, Vem released “The Way” album of Armenian sharakans, performed by the acclaimed Hover Chamber Choir of Armenia, and “De Profundis”, with soloists Anahit Papayan, Lusine Ghazarian and the Hover Chamber Choir. In 2007, Vem Recordings published the album of the renowned Komitas State Quartet, including masterpieces by the leading contemporary Armenian composers.
Hayk Melikyan: Armenian Piano Music
In the panorama of modern Armenian performing art, Hayk Melikyan stands out for his bright individuality. A recent CD with his renderings titled “Armenian Piano Music” was released by CDigital LLC Production in 2011 (sound by Sergey Gasparyan, design by Aram Melikyan, photos by Armen Zakaryan). The disc comprises selected works of the Armenian composing school of the second half of the 20th century (Aram Khachaturyan, Arno Babajanyan, Ghazaros Saryan, Tigran Mansuryan, Harutiun Danielyan), and with his arrangements of “Oror” folk song and Grigor Narekatsi’s “Havun” H. Melikyan presents his composing art. A booklet in English, which depicts the creative portrait of H. Melikyan, is enclosed with the CD. |
