Under preparation is a new CD, "Mashtots: Sacred Pearls" performed by Hasmik Baghdasaryan, in Vahan Artsruni's interpretation. With this work, the musicians aim at focusing the world's attention on the Armenian sacred chant. "If we fail to present ourselves in a proper language today, we might be late," notes Vahan Artsruni.

As hard as Mr Artsruni was trying to convince that this is the way things are done since the dawn of the 21st century the MIDI accompaniment to these magnificent chants sounds too artificial. You do not need a musician's ear to discern the obvious discord between the natural human voice and the computerized electronic instruments.
