The St. John (Hovhannes) Monastery of Bagavan was located in the south-eastern part of Bagrevand region, Ayrarat province of Greater Armenia, at the foot of Mount Npat, in the historical settlement of Bagavan. According to the construction records, the church of the monastery was built by Yezr I Parazhnakertsi, in 631-639. This was one of the largest Armenian churches. |
