Avet Gabrielyan (1899 - 1983) is one of the founders of the Armenian violin school and Armenian String Quartet. The greatest violinist was born in Nakhichevan-on-Don, which became the place of residence of the descendants of Ani Armenians. His first teacher of music was his school teacher of singing Gevorg Cheorekchyan, the future Catholicos George VI.
