Today is Sayat-Nova's birthday. He was born on June 14, 1722, in a family of urban artisans in Tbilisi. He spent his childhood and youth in Tbilisi. Sayat-Nova could read and write in Armenian and Georgian, and also knew the Arabic alphabet.
